Mafia: The Old Country Releasing In 2025, New Gameplay Trailer Revealed

2K and developer Hangar 13 has showed more of Mafia: The Old Country, at The Game Awards 2024.

As the prequel of all three mainline Mafia games, Mafia: The Old Country is going back to the roots of organised crime with this entry. It’s set in Sicily, Italy.

Interestingly, 2K proclaims the game as a “linear, narrative-driven game” which is a different direction from Mafia III, but a course-correction to how the first two Mafia games were.

In Mafia: The Old Country, players take on the role of Enzo during the heydays of the mafia, where these gentlemen patrol their protection rackets on foot and on horseback. This is before the proliferation of the automobile, though there will be some cars depicted in the game.

Enzo was working in the sulfur mines while still being a minor, and now found a way out by joining Don Torissi’s family. And a family man, in mafia terms, are bound to a code of honour, something the Don reminds young Enzo during the trailer.

Mafia: The Old Country will be out in Summer (Q3) 2024. Between this, Civilization VII and Borderlands 4, 2K will have a busy 2025.
