Kejora Release Gets Last-Minute Delayed, Now Targeting January 2026 Release

Kejora, the upcoming Indonesian indie adventure by Berangin Creative and publisher Soft Source, has been delayed, in the last minute. The game was set to launch this week on September 4.

“Regrettably for us, as well as many other developers and publishers, we’ve learnt that the highly anticipated sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong is also set for release on 4th September 2025,” the press release announcement reads. Both Soft Source and Berangin Creative mutually believes “by releasing it on the same day as Silksong, Kejora will not get the attention it deserves.”

Kejora’s delay is quite the big one, a whole quarter of a year into January 6. But this extra dev time will allow the title to not only release on Steam, but also on Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Kejora has been in development since 2021, which started out as a “run-and-gun side-scroller” which later evolved into a narrative puzzle adventure. Players play as the titular Kejora who found her village to be haunted by mysterious eldritch beings and also in a time loop. With the help of her fellow friends, the kids of this picturesque Southeast Asia village must save their home.

Kejora isn’t the only indie game to concede the release week to move away from Hollow Knight: Silksong, one other example (of many more) is the high-school tactics-RPG Demonschool.

Silksong has incredibly strong buzz despite years of radio silence, see the community’s penchant for “Silkposting.” Any other game, indie or otherwise, will risk getting lost in the busy week of game releases, where it’s likely that Silksong will take up most of the mainstream gamer’s attention.

Kejora is now set to release on January 8, 2026 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
