On that note, Indie Jam continues the tradition of having the Student Game Jam where up-and-coming game devs get together to create something that can be called a video game under tight time constraints with some theme to go on.

Winners will be based on a mix of judges’ scoring as well as public voting—try out these game jam creations on that show floor and support the games that impresses you as the winning team gets to walk away with RM60,000 worth in sponsorship provided by Xsolla Curine Academy. So you can play a small part in supporting future talents to get opportunities to make games.

Indie Jam 2025 also continues to provide more opportunities for people who are already in the games industry, or curious to see and learn about the industry.

There will be industry talks, just like previous year. Speakers for this year includes folks from Critical Reflex, Toge Productions, Neon Doctrine, Passion Republic, Springloaded Games, University of Wollongong Malaysia, and even General Arcade, the folks that ported the FromSoftware classic Metal Wolf Chaos to PC.

These are essentially one of those GDC talks where they go very inside baseball into the art of making games, and if you’re curious to see aspects of how the sausage is made, you can come and listen for free.

Online Showcases And Livestreams

This year’s Indie Jam 2025 also has more of an online presence. In partnership with SEAGamethetic, the Indie Jam Direct showcase was broadcasted last weekend featuring the indie games that are part of the event. You can check out the show here:

And similar to past years, there will be an aftershow-eseque series of livestreams for the games featured at Indie Jam as part of After Jam, in collaboration with The Cham Drinkers, Neon Doctrine, and Soft Source Publishing.

Check a look at what we saw at the first Indie Jam and last year’s event here and here.
