Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks Is A Car Combat Game From The Developers Of Grip

Let’s go boiz, Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks, the tabletop game where players engage in a death race is getting a video game, announced at the Warhammer Skulls 2023 stream. And from that turn-based racing game we got a vehicular combat, or car combat, game.

Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks sees the Ork boyz go full speed and engage on their cobbled-up together speed machines loaded with dakka-dakka in 16-player matches.

Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is developed by Caged Element, the indie developers behind Grip, the spiritual successor to the PS1 game Rollcage, both being arcade racers with car combat elements. Speed Freeks will be published by Plaion and is powered by Unreal Engine 5.

An alpha test is currently live right now. The mode available has you go around the map to capture points and shoot each other while you’re at it, and then race to the finish line.

As you can expect, Speed Freeks features only the Orks, in particular the Speed Freeks which has developed a need for speed enough to be its own kult.

You can test drive Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks’ alpha right now on Steam. Currently there’s no release date for the game, and only PC (Steam) is the confirmed platform in which it will be released.
