Kingdom Hearts IV Gets New Teaser After Four Years, Coming To Switch 2

It’s been four years since Kingdom Hearts IV was announced, and at the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, it finally reappeared once again.

The new teaser trailers shows a bit more gameplay and cinematic sequences that will entail the next mainline entry, which will see series protagonist Sora meeting characters in the “mysterious city of Quadratum” that suspiciously look like modern-day Tokyo.

Square Enix confirms that Kingdom Hearts IV will be another adventure where you go to various worlds where he will cross paths with new characters and acquire new powers. The teaser shows people in slick black clothing, including those hoodies, are part of the cast. And thankfully, so is Donald and Goofy.

There is no release date for Kingdom Hearts IV. It is now targeting a day-and-date Switch 2 release alongside on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Square Enix also announced native Switch 2 releases for the entire backlog of Kingdom Hearts (bar a few, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days remain just a collection of cinematics as the full game remains a Nintendo DS exclusive) through the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III]. The previous collection on Switch were cloud-based.
