The First Berserker: Khazan is an upcoming action-RPG by Nexon releasing later this March, and it will have a physical release on PS5 in Asia.
Sega has a sub-publishing agreement with Nexon to publish the physical release of The First Berserker: Khazan in Asia, that includes Japan, Nexon’s own home country in South Korea as well as in Southeast Asia.
Pre-order bonuses include the Fallen Star Armour Set for Khazan, which isn’t just cosmetics. These are gear pieces that can be upgraded and have its options customised.
You can pre-order here, though at the time of writing, the physical edition pre-order page has no links to any participating retailers to place that pre-order. Though now you know that physical copies of these will be available when the game is released.
The First Berserker: Khazan is based on the Dungeon Fighter Online (DnF) universe that started out as a mobile game and now has a series of games on console and PC games (which includes a fighting game).
The game itself is a “hardcore action-RPG” (so, like a soulslike) with hack-and-slash combat (character action) featuring the titular Khazan in his quest of vengeance due to being falsely accused by treason. Enough to make him be a berserker, the first berserker to be precise. Khazan is voiced by Ben Starr, the exquisitely gruff voice behind Clive in Final Fantasy XVI (and Tekken 8) and recently, Arthur in Warframe.
The game runs on Unreal Engine, though it makes use of 3D cel-shaded art style to give that anime look.
Sega has been doing a lot of these sub-publishing deals where they help distribute and market select games in Asia including Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Farming Simulator 25 and Enotria: The Last Song.
The First Berserker: Khazan will be out on PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S on March 28.
