Shapez 2 Launches In Steam Early Access This August

Looks like the launch of Shapez 2, the sequel to the shape-building factory builder by tobspr Games, is taking shape soon. The game now has a release date for its Steam Early Access release.

Shapez 2 will drop on August 15 as a Steam Early Access title.

With over 300,000 wishlists, Shapez 2 expands the original game by incorporating the third dimension. The flat 2D plane is now a 3D space. In space. Players are tasked to create shapes using various tools to cut, stack, colour and rotate the shapes into specific shapes and feed them into the vortex at the center. How players end up fulfilling the tasks is up to them, with many ways to produce shapes, though there’s always room to optimise for faster throughput.

The Early Access version of Shapez 2 contains four modes: Normal, Hard, Insane and Hexagonal mode (the four-sided tiles are replaced with six-sided hexes, bringing more complexity). There are options to further customise the modes. Expect more mods and content to be added during the Early Access period.

Fans of factory builders, problem-solving games, automation games and puzzlers should take a look at this. The Steam Next Fest demo it once had made available was already addicting if you ask us.

“We’re proud to have reached the point where Shapez 2 is ready to be released in Early Access,” said Tobias Springer, founder of tobspr Games. “The game already offers players a full-fledged experience worthy of a full launch- now we’re going to take the time to continue polishing the game and add more content until we’re completely satisfied with what we’ve created.”

Shapez 2 launches on Steam Early Access on August 15.
