Konami is making new video games again, and at the February 2026 State Of Play broadcast, they made that intent clear with a barrage of announcements, capping with the reveal of a new IP.
Titled Rev. Noir (or “Rev. NOiR” to use its proper stylised form), this is a new RPG, specifically referred as a JRPG in the broadcast, currently in development for the PS5.
Here’s the blurb that sets the tone of Rev.Noir:
In a world shrouded in light fall, a natural phenomenon that brings death to those it touches,
A lonely boy who suffers from amnesia becomes acquainted with a special girl.
Together, they set out on a journey to stop this phenomenon,
Believing that the journey will save the world, and in turn, save her.Fate, bestowed by the Gods?
Or the power of will, borne from within humankind?
Their journey ends up shaking the world.
Rev.Noir has stylised anime characters, a world drizzled in topaz rain and seemingly dark undertones to its adventure featuring a cast of characters banding together to traverse a fantasy-like world.

Consider the reveal trailer a teaser, as Rev.Noir has not revealed gameplay (glimpses op it is seen suggesting it’s an action-RPG at the very least) or a release window.
But between the enlisting the best rougelite makers for a new Castlevania entry, finally re-releasing Metal Gear Solid 4 to modern platforms and another new Silent Hill game, it’s safe to say that Konami is committed in publishing and developing video games again.
