New Dev Diary Video Shows More Hitman 3 Gameplay In Virtual Reality
Nobody expected Hitman to feature VR support, but once IO Interactive announced it’s a thing, it makes so much sense. The original sandbox murder game used to have first-person perspective.
But having the entire World Of Assassin trilogy- Hitman 2016, Hitman 2 and the upcoming Hitman 3- now that’s going to be mind-blowing.
The new dev diary video for Hitman 3 is all about that. This is not a truncated experience to fit VR. It’s the same game, played in VR. That means you can shoot blind shots around corners, have limited visibility while hiding and moving through high grass, and swing that arm to melee someone.
There’s a lot of new gameplay footage in VR this time, featuring levels from Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2. There’s a nice clip of Agent 47 in Sapienza tapping a guard on the shoulder with a crowbar, and as the guard turns around, gets smacked. And also a clip of Agent 47 just lounging on the tropical resort of Maldives, the DLC level in Hitman 2.
However, there’s no new footage of any new Hitman 3 levels other than snippets we see in previous reveals.
Hitman 3 lets you import past levels that you own in Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2, as well as carry over progress from Hitman 2. If you’re on PS4, you can play the entire 20+ locations from all three games entirely in PS VR.
Hitman 3 launches in January 2021 for the PS4 (with PS VR support), PS5 PC (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Stadia.
