Indie developer OmniMegaSuperCorp announced the release date for its debut title Ledgerbound. It’s a tactical RPG in the veins of Fire Emblem, set in a fantastical world, but also a world where corporate bureaucracy reigns.
But the core of it is unmistakably Fire Emblem-coded. You’ll be recruiting a party of co-workers of various fantasy races, befriend and even romance them by spending your limited time available every day, and conduct a tile-based tactical combat that adheres to the rock-paper-scissors trinity of elements.
Ledgerbound is also inspired by Everything Everywhere All At Once, Parks And Recreation and video games including Tactical Breach Wizards, The Stanley Parable and of course, Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
What makes Ledgerbound stands out from other tactical RPGs/strategy-RPGs is the theming. If the idea of corporate buzzwords like “HR-approved dating simulator,” being juxtaposed in a fantasy setting, Ledgerbound should grab your attention. It also boasts a star-studded cast of voice actors to swoon you into romancing the available party members/co-workers.

Fittingly enough, OmniMegaSuperCorp’s website is just as filled with tongue-in-cheek corporate jargon as the game they are making. Some of the talents behind this indie development team includes ex-Arrowhead Studios personnel such asEvan Nickel (CEO, previously production director on Helldivers 2), Russ Nickel (Game Director, previously lead writer on Helldivers 2) and Ashley Nicollette (Marketing Director, previously community and marketing director on Helldivers 2).
However, it doesn’t seem that Ledgerbound will have you go do actual paperwork as gameplay, it’s a fantasy salaryperson game rather than a salaryperson fantasy game, the latter being a game where you actually do office work, which this is not. It’s all flavour, likely for the better.
If a tactical RPG with a bit of quirky writing and characters that just wants to make love with you for some reason, Ledgerbound is bound for release on July 14 on PC (Steam).
