Double Eleven announced its first own IP, a multiplayer shooter called Blindfire.
Blindfire is an online multiplayer FPS (4v4 or eight-player free-for-all matches) where you are literally shooting in the dark. The maps are barely lit, so you have to use your senses to track, spot and take a shot in the dark.
A blindfire if you will.
Firing your weapon exposes your position so Blindfire’s pitch for a shooter is one where you have to be stealthy, and see things mostly in pitch black.
There is a echo mechanic to allow you to ping and locate opponents.
If you’re out of the game, you can spectate the current match in Blindfire but with night vision cameras that unveils the colourful street art designs on the walls and outfits of players. They can also control traps to exact revenge, Micro Machines-style.
Revealed during the Xbox Partner Preview livestream, this is Double Eleven’s first original title. It’s being developed in the UK and Malaysia studios. Double Eleven has previously been doing co-development duties on titles such as Rust Console Edition.
Blindfire, rather aptly, shadowdropped right after the reveal, and it’s available right now on Xbox and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) and coming to PS5 soon. It’s a paid multiplayer title, which is rather a scary proposition given recent blunders, but on Steam it’s priced at a rather cheap price of RM24.50.
