Demo’s out for FiresOut! The debut game from Malaysian indie devs Dreamonaut Studio that takes the chaotic co-op madness of Overcooked! to a different occupation now has a demo for you and your friends to try out.
This was revealed during the Best Indie Game Summer Showcase 2026, albeit announced a little early than planned. But the demo should be live now on PC (Steam).
FiresOut! tasks a team of 1-4 players as underequipped firefighting interns who must hose down fires and save civilians. You have some fire axes, usually not enough for a full team, to clear debris with and a goldfish in a comically large and heavy toilet (by the name of Mr. Glug Glug) as your water hose. With that limited equipment, you’ll be going into homes with complex layouts that simply invites more chaos to the housewarming party gone wrong. No wonder people are trapped and needs rescuing.
If moving a three-seater sofa through tight corners is a challenge, get ready to move a comically large and heavy toilet. And clear debris to make way for said large toilet. And having to carry the civilians out to safety (which isn’t too bad all things considered since you can commit defenestration.)
Content wise, the FiresOut! demo includes access six levels (one tutorial level, five levels that makes up World 1), online and local co-op, four playable characters and… exploding fireballs. Talk about trial by fire.
If games like Overcooked! and Moving Out are in your party rotation, FiresOut! might be another worthy addition. So give the demo a look and try.
