Set forth for another adventure, Arisen, as the Dark Arisen expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is out now.
Not to be confused with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, initially the expansion to the original Dragon’s Dogma and now more or less the complete edition as the version on sale on modern platforms include the base game and expansion, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen adds a third region for players to explore, the wintery lands of Norgan.
Alongside a whole new region filled with quests, dungeons and whatever else you might uncover in this systems-led open world action RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen also adds 12 new dungeons scattered around the lands of Vermund and Batthal, the two base game regions. These Lost Rites dungeons contain new gear but to gain them requires the Arisen and their Pawns to overcome tricky challenges, some requiring specific prerequisites before being permitted entry.
Lastly, the Dark Arisen expansion adds new hairstyle and tattoos for character customisation. The hairstyles should be familiar for those who played enough recent Capcom games.
Note that the Lost Rites and Norgan region are recommended for players with late-game characters with high levels. While you can technically access the new Dark Arisen content with a fresh save, you won’t be readily equipped for the challenges ahead, unless of course you’re up for such challenges.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen – Official Pawns Based On Creators In Asia
Capcom also announced that there are now more official Pawns available, including creators based in Asia. These official Pawns can be recruited by players for free to be added to their party.
Capcom has partnered with four more creators in Asia to join the official Pawns list, while previously featured official Pawns have been updated with “higher levels, new skill sets, and refined combat styles.”
The new official Pawns based on creators in Asia are as follows (creator names in parentheses). Unless stated otherwise, all Pawns are available on all platforms.
- New Official Pawns
- Myrtle Gail (Myrtle Sarrosa) Fighter, Logistician
- BBS (BeastBoyShub) Mage, Chirugeon
- Mr.G (Gssspotted) Thief, Forager
- Xyaa (Xyaa) Archer, Guardian
- Returning Official Pawns
- Alodia (Alodia Gosiengfiao) Sorcerer, Woodland Wordsmith (refreshed look)
- FrungFringZ (HEARTROCKER) Sorcerer, Guardian
- Rattlexnake (The Jooomers) Sorcerer, “Dynamic & Evolving” (PC only)
Even for those not purchasing the new expansion, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has gotten a good overhaul since its launch. The game now runs better, extra save slots to run multiple Arisen and Pawns, and there is now an option to restart the game with the same Arisen and Pawn character at any time while carrying current progress, like an unrestricted New Game Plus.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is out now on PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S as an expansion to Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark: Arisen is also available on Nintendo Switch 2 that includes the base game and expansion.
