Unfortunate, but not surprising. Bleeding Edge, the 4v4 multiplayer action game by Ninja Theory will stop receiving content updates.
“With the studio now focusing on our new projects (Senua’s Saga, Project Mara & The Insight Project) we have decided that there will be no further content updates for Bleeding Edge,” goes the tweet from the Bleeding Edge Twitter.
Bleeding Edge was announced alongside the news of Microsoft’s acquisition of Ninja Theory, and released in 2019 to mixed and lukewarm reviews. Its last major update where a new character was added was in July last year.
Some multiplayer games under the Xbox Game Studios banner do make a turnaround after a rocky or lukewarm launch- Rare’s Sea Of Thieves is stronger than ever with an active playerbase, and recently added a battle pass system. But for Ninja Theory, it seems that they are willing to let go of their multiplayer game.
Servers for Bleeding Edge is still working both on Xbox consoles and PC. But don’t expect anything new coming for it either.
