Ninja Theory, now part of Xbox Game Studios, has a new game other than the multiplayer Bleeding Edge.
Announced just after the reveal of the Xbox Series X at The Game Awards 2019 is the sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
Titled Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, the trailer showcases “in-engine” footage of the game, designed for Xbox Series X. It’s the first glimpse of how a next-gen title will look like, probably.
While the textures are indeed more detail, it’s the manic chanting of Senua, with more pronounced facial expressions, that make it look like a next-generation upgrade. If the trailer really represents actual gameplay, that is.
Here’s the trailer:
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a great action game that tackles the issue of mental illness, and it looks like we shall see more of the world through Senua’s lens on the next-generation Xbox. Like the first game, it will be powered by Unreal Engine.
In other news, Ninja Theory has established The Insight Project, where they are lending their game design expertise to work with clinical neuroscience experts on how to figure out ways to overcome mental illness.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II has no release date yet, but it will be available on the Xbox Series X.
