Samsung Introduces New T7 And T9 MicroSD Cards, Now Available In Malaysia

Samsung has launched a new series of microSD cards in Malaysia. The new Samsung T7 and Samsung T9 series of microSD cards should provide expandable storage for a variety of devices, including portable gaming devices.

Samsung is retiring the old naming convention of EVO Plus, PRO Plus, and PRO Ultimate for its microSD cards. Moving forward, there will be two series of Samsung removable storage: the T (which stands for “Trustworthiness”) and P (for “Peace of Mind”).

The T7 microSD card, intended for casual gaming and lifestyle uses have read speeds at up to 170MB/s, whilst the higher-end T9 microSD card, targeting professional creators and enthusiast gamers, has a higher read speed up to 200MB/s.

The Samsung T9 microSD cards are available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB sizes. The Samsung T7 microSD cards are available in all three mentioned sizes and also with 1TB storage size.

These microSD cards are no replacements for an SSD which usually has 500MB/s read speeds, and Switch 2 requires the use of microSD Express cards to install games on (you’d want a Samsung P9 for that). But if you have a portable gaming console or PC, like an ROG Xbox Ally, or a Nintendo Switch, these microSD cards should work as a fuss-free storage expansion.

The pricing for the Samsung T7 and T9 microSD cards are as follows:

Samsung T7 microSD Card MSRP Malaysia:

128GBRM209
256GBRM335
512GB RM663
1TB RM1,325

Samsung T9 microSD Card MSRP Malaysia:

128GBRM263
256GBRM413
512GBRM833
