Microsoft is positioning the Xbox brand as more of a service rather than a new console you should buy these days. And this latest announcement continues to prove that statement true.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the highest-tier subscription for Xbox Game Pass which includes access to a large selection of Xbox One and Windows 10 PC games for a flat monthly fee, will also include Project xCloud by September.
This means that in countries where Project xCloud is supported, you can choose to play the games included in Game Pass via streaming from your mobile device, PC or Xbox console. With no added cost to the original Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Project xCloud will also include next-gen Xbox Series X titles too, and game saves and progression can be carried over from Xbox and PC.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also includes Xbox Live Gold- the PS Plus equivalent for online multiplayer and monthly free games subscription.
Previously, beta tests for Project xCloud lets testers use titles from Xbox Game Pass, in addition to the game they already own, for use for game streaming. Now, it’s officially part of Game Pass.
For those that are in supported countries (which doesn’t include most of Southeast Asia, as you would expect), this is a great value addition to the monthly subscription.
And it sounds even more promising than Google’s Stadia has to offer- Project xCloud includes a selection of around 100 games playable thanks to Xbox Game Pass.
