2023 is Payday 3’s year, apparently. The upcoming co-op heist shooter sequel has a new teaser trailer released just as New Year hits.
Payday 3 will be coming to PC via Steam and also to consoles.
This entry will see the original Payday Gang (Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, Chains) come out of retirement for another round of robbery, that’s how they are getting paid. As the teaser trailer shows, expect a few heists to be done in New York City.
The first two Payday games, developed by Overkill Software, were a big success for publisher Starbreeze Studios. Payday 2 in particular has sold over 40 million copies.
Previously, the franchise was partly owned by publisher 505 Games before acquiring the full rights to the franchise.
Payday 3 will be published by Prime Matter, a publishing arm under Plaion (and part of the Embracer Group). Plaion, previously known as Koch Media, invested 50 million Euros as part of an agreement to co-publish Payday 3, which will see the game getting “more than 18 months of post-launch ‘games as a service'”.
