Square Enix and People Can Fly have revealed more information about the first expansion for the looter-shooter Outriders. The expansion was teased late last year, but now we know what to expect what’s coming.
Outriders Worldslayer will be adding a new story campaign. Taking place right after the ending of the main story in the base game, the world of Enoch is continuing to be ravaged by the Anomaly, now with more blizzards and frost storms. You will be facing Ereshkigal, the commander of the human insurgent faction as the main antagonist in Worldslayer.
New players can jump straight into Worldslayer’s new campaign by making a level 30 character.
Outriders Worldslayer will also include a new endgame mode, the Trial of Tarya Gratar. More information about this new mode will be revealed closer to the expansion’s release.
The other big addition coming with the expansion is more ways to progress and build your character, and higher difficulty options.
PAX Trees adds two more skill tree branches for your chosen class, unlocked as part of the Worldslayer campaign. Then there’s Ascension Points, long-term prestige bonuses where you unlock various small passive boosts. You can earn up to 200 Ascension Points.
There are also Apocalypse Tiers, new and higher World Tiers (replacing Challenge Tiers) that now go up to Level 40. Enemies are stronger but the loot drop is also better, with the chance to drop Apocalypse Gear. These can have three mod slots instead of just two.
Lastly, expect new enemy types and more loot to collect (up to level 75) as well as new mod types.
Outriders Worldslayer will be available as DLC (for returning players) and as a packaged bundle that includes both base game and expansion. Pre-orders are now available on PlayStation Store Asia, Xbox, as well as on Steam.
Outriders Worldslayer will launch on July 1 in Asia (one day later than the western release dates of June 30), coming to PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
