Here’s an interesting announcement from the June 2026 Nintendo Direct. Bandai Namco announced a new One Piece game unlike any other, because it’s actually a Kairosoft management sim.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet is a management sim where you help the Straw Hat Crew in designing and managing a floating restaurant, with chef Sanji at the helm, obviously.
With over 400 different characters to feed (not just Luffy, who could probably eat 400 meals on his own), 200 decorative items to deck out the restaurant deck of the ship, and tons of unique menu items all based on established lore from the manga and anime series, One Piece: Grand Gourmet offers all that in a familiar, Kairosoft flair.
For the uninitiated, Kairosoft has been making management games for the longest while, making its presence worldwide with the release of Game Dev Story in 2010. That’s during the early heydays of mobile gaming as we know it today. Since then, Kairosoft has been producing game after game (more than 70 have English releases, some also have console and PC ports alongside on mobile). One of the latest ones from Kairosoft is based on another manga and anime, Doraemon, so One Piece: Grand Gourmet is a new crop of Kairosoft management games based on an existing IP.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet launches on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and mobile on October 23.
