Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, the Borderlands looter-shooter spin-off with a more tabletop fantasy RPG vibe, got a new trailer showcased at The Game Awards.
For the uninitiated, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has you participate in one of Tiny Tina’s tabletop sessions of Bunkers & Badasses – a similar setup to a previous Borderlands 2 DLC. But now with customisable characters and more fantasy inspiration.
The trailer reveals a few familiar faces that will be participating in the Wonderlands campaign. The tough man Brick is here as a fairy (with pretty wings and skirt), while explosion connoisseur Torgue (of the Torgue Combustible Pistols Company- one of the gun brands in the game) makes an appearance as a “half-bard” who can bring blessings or be blasting.
There are new players on the table too. Valentine is “a washed-up low-rent space pirate” or a gallant adventurer, depending on who you ask. And Frette is, well, was, “an office accounting bot for decades before a chance encounter with Valentine resulted in her employer filing for Bankruptcy While Currently On Fire (legally distinct from normal Bankruptcy)”.
The silly brand of humour that is either charming or cringe (depends on who you ask) as a staple in the Borderlands series is intact in Wonderlands.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is still set to launch on March 25, 2022 on the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version will be released outside of Epic within the same year, later in 2022.
