Passion Republic Games’ multiplayer monster brawler GigaBash gets a new trailer revealed at Gamescom 2021.
If you caught the Gamescom 2021 Studio livestream hosted by IGN, you might have seen the upcoming indie title by the Malaysian-based developer.
The new trailer shows a bunch of the previously revealed kaijus (plus one robo-mecha and one giant humanoid hero in the form of Gigaman) duking it out. The game is inspired by the likes of Power Stone, the Super Smash Bros. series as well as the cult classic War Of The Monsters, and you can see those inspirations in the top-down brawling gameplay here.
The trailer also gives a glimpse of the many different arenas you’ll be brawling in (with tons of building-stomping and environmental destruction goodness) and… a story mode?
The last bit shows a Story Mode, featuring a visual novel-esque presentation, new 2D art and also NPCs. Something that was never revealed until now.
GigaBash is also present at the Indie Arena Booth 2021, as part of Gamescom, where you can sign up to explore a virtual expo (where you explore it in a browser-based video game) full of upcoming indie titles. You can find GigaBash at the “Corpsoleum: The Battlefield” section, from August 25-29.
GigaBash is set for release in early 2022 for the PS4 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
