Duo Quest, the debut game from Malaysian indie devs 1+1 Studios and publisher Rising Tide, now has a release date.
Revealed during the 2026 Southeast Asian Games Showcase, the co-op deckbuilder where you plus one other player go dungeon crawling through procedurally generated levels will launch this September.
Unlike the usual deckbuilding roguelikes out there, Duo Quest has what it’s now called Bondbreaker Mode. In this mode, not only the two players have to build separate decks and fight monsters, they will also be tested through relationship questions. Do the partner on the other side truly know your traits, faves and preferences? And does it go both ways? Duo Quest will either build, or break, bonds between friends and lovers.
As roguelike/roguelite goes, Duo Quest features five classes which determine your deck’s playstyle, mysterious artifacts to discover through each run and each player has their own decks. So it’s a party with two members where the duo can come up with class synergies and combos that complement each other. Even if you opt out of the relationship tests, there is a co-op element in Duo Quest.
Duo Quest will be participating in the June 2026 Steam Next Fest, where the currently live demo will be updated with a new class, and one level in full. Reach the end of the paths to face against the trickster General Bodger.
It was only two years ago when the game was introduced to the public via Indie Jam, presented as a board game prototype. And now it’s about ready to be a fully-fledged video game.
Duo Quest releases on September 16 for the PC (Steam).
