1+1 Studios has released a public demo of its upcoming game Duo Quest. This is the co-op deckbuilder game where you fight monsters by showing how well you and your plus one know each other.
Duo Quest underwent a public playtest back in December 2025, with 5,000 players worldwide. This new demo, available for everyone, has incorporated feedback from this playtest which includes UI/UX improvements and a new Quick Play mode.
The Malaysian-based indie outfit has regularly attended local events, including this year’s Indie Jam.
On top of that, 1+1 Studios have plans to continue updating the demo leading up to the game’s release.
In Duo Quest, two players will have to face various quirky enemies. Each player gets their own deck of cards and can strategise on how to use them. Each player gets to pick from a set of five classes each with unique card sets, and the progression is very roguelike in that the paths and encounters are all procedurally generated.
But the real trick of it all is Bondbreaker Mode. Players will have their bonds tested by having to answer questions like “what is your partner’s greatest fear?” You either walk away from Duo Quest learning more about each other, or really strain the relationship from not remembering things the partner assume you know, or vice versa. Hopefully this co-op game doesn’t end up making real-life PVP encounters.
If you’ve played Duo Quest before, the demo also adds more questions to the list, to continue test the hulls of your relationship. The demo also adds two new nodes in the progression: Deck Edit room where you can edit the cards in your deck and a Cursed Artefact room where you can use powers of new playstyle-changing artefacts. This is a roguelike deckbuilder after all.
Duo Quest is a local co-op game, there’s built-in online co-op feature. That said, you can make use of Steam Remote Play or Parsec should you wish to play with a plus one online.
Duo Quest has no release date yet but it’s coming out on PC (Steam).
