Gran Turismo World Series Heading To Singapore This October, Includes Special Support Race For SEA Racers

The 2026 Gran Turismo World Series will be heading to Singapore this October. The third round of the championship, which is Gran Turismo 7’s official esports circuit, will be held at Sands Theatre in the Marina Bay Sands complex on October 3.

This will be the first time the GT World Series to host a round in Southeast Asia.

That’s a week ahead of the annual Formula 1 Grand Prix (9-11 October). Round 3 of the 2026 GT World Series is held in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board and is part of the events within the two-week Grand Prix™ Season Singapore.

Those in Singapore (or are willing to travel there) can attend and witness the best Gran Turismo players in the world compete at the highest level. Tickets are available for purchase, starting at $38 SGD (around RM117) (not including booking fees, so it actually costs a bit more).

On top of the usual Nations Cup and Manufacturer Series races, Round 3 of the GT World Series will also host a special support race: the Singapore Regional Gran Turismo Cup.

The players competing in this are selected from the Singapore Regional Time Trial Challenge. This will be an in-game online Time Trial challenge to be held in August, open for players in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia. The six fastest racers from Singapore and the fastest racer in each region (making a grid of 12—the cap for all the LAN racers in GT World Series events) will be qualified to participate in this support race at the event.

Given that the current top players in the world are mostly not from parts of Southeast Asia (Malaysia did qualify for the Nations Cup one year when the GT World Series changed the format and Hong Kong had one top racer in the early days of the championship and featured in GT7: J. Wong), it’s nice to see local and regional players will get to show their worth at home territory.

“Singapore is a great place to visit and so we hope that fans of Gran Turismo from across the region will be able to come and watch our top racers in action,” says Gran Turismo Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi on PlayStation Blog. “The regional Time Trial is an opportunity for us to discover talented drivers from the region and give them a chance to race on stage in front of a live audience and maybe that experience will give them the confidence to make it into the Gran Turismo World Series in future.”

The 2026 GT World Series just concluded its first round in Milan last weekend, where developer Polyphony Digital also shared a teaser for next month’s game update for Gran Turismo 7. Round 2 will take place in Tokyo, Japan, while Singapore hosts the penultimate round with the finale ending back in Tokyo, Japan. The championship was supposed to kick off in Abu Dhabi last March was cancelled.
