Gran Turismo 7 August 2023 Update Adds Four New Cars

The next update for Gran Turismo 7 comes early for August 2023 (or is a bit late since July 2023 was skipped, depending on how you look at it).

Four new cars are being added with Update 1.36. And that’s about it, really. Another month of no new tracks.

The choices of car additions have never been more eclectic. One is nicely timed to coincide with a film. Another is a brand-new supercar. Another is straight-up just an ambulance. And another is a car that technically you can’t purchase yet once the update goes live.

For the supercar fans, we’re getting a Maserati (Maserati) with Maserati MC20. That’s the newest and arguably sexiest car to brandish that trident logo since the MC12.

The other car is for fans of the classics and the mentioned movie tie-in. And no, we’re not talking about the Gran Turismo movie. The Chevrolet Corvette (C1), the first-gen, will be added, which recently featured in the hit summer movie Barbie. You can expect plenty of pink liveries being uploaded to the Showcase menu.

(There is content related to the upcoming Gran Turismo movie. And it’s a move-accurate livery for the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3, a car already available in the game.)

The other two cars were already teased: the Toyota GR Corolla Morizo Edition and the Toyota Ambulance Himedic. Gran Turismo 7 is here to remind everyone that new cars should be added, and so are complete and utter oddballs. Who asked for an ambulance in a racing game where you race in closed circuits? But this is a series that has added a moon rover, so there’s that.

Gran Turismo 7 August 2023 Update New Cars

As far as other content goes, there are three Extra Menus (the ones where you just have to collect cars), and a new set of Scapes with the theme Fire Station.

Another little feature added in with the update is “Special Picks”. One car in Legend Cars and Used Cars are added for sale as a special deal based on popular wishlisted cars.
