Drive Barbie’s Car In Forza Horizon 5

Come on Barbie, let’s go racing. A tie-in promo with the upcoming Barbie movie sees Forza Horizon 5 adding the bright pink car into the open-world racing game.

All you need to do is log in to Forza Horizon 5 and check the messages in the Horizon Life tab. There should be two different messages prompting you to claim the ‘Barbie Movie’ 1956 Chevrolet Corvette EV and Ken’s 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup.

Barbie’s ride is unique in that it has special license plates at the front and back, and it’s running on electric motors. The C1 Corvette in the base game is locked as a collection prize, and you’ll need to get a lot of Chevys to have that, so Barbie’s ride might be the first C1 Corvette you get to drive in.

And even then, it’s not exactly that same car. This 1956 model year has a facelift, less bumpers and more clean lines. Even more surprising is that it’s an EV.

Ken’s car is just the Hummer EV introduced in the previous Festival Playlist. If you missed that one, well, now you get to earn one free. Other than the paint job, it’s just another Hummer EV, which is lame, which is just like Ken.

For an added layer of meta, you can bring Barbie and Ken’s ride to the Horizon Hot Wheels Park if you have the Hot Wheels expansion for some Mattel brand synergy.

Speaking of brand synergy, this is another case of two cars from General Motors being placed up front and center in a Forza game. The upcoming Forza Motorsport game features two GM cars on the cover.

(And just like how people on Twitter joked on how much the other upcoming movie Oppenheimer should continue to co-exist with Barbie due to their shared release day, it would be funny if for some reason the Ford Nucleon, the nuclear-powered car by GM rivals Ford, would get added for some reason).

Forza Horizon 5’s current Festival Playlist is Upgrade Heroes, which features events where tuned cars are welcomed, another Donut Media collab, and new rims.
