The world of Frostpunk is a fascinating, dire but optimistic one. But have you imagined the world before the eternal winter set in? 11-bit Studios is set to answer that with its first proper paid DLC (or expansion)- The Last Autumn.
And the answer to that is, it looks like steampunk, not surprisingly.
The Last Autumn scenario has you building your regular spiral city but it’s not all snowy out there. Though winter is… inevitable, so you have to build that heat generator. The scenario brings new buildings, technologies, and Books of Laws as you tackle new social issues as well as balancing your build order.
This the second of two paid DLC/expansions from the new Frostpunk Season Pass. It had a year of free updates, culminating with the release of an Endless mode. The first DLC, The Rift, essentially adds one new Endless mode map that has you build bridges on it that’s basically it. The Last Autumn, however, is a full scenario and with a different environment to boot so this should be way more worth the purchase.
There’s another DLC/expansion still coming to the Season Pass, right now only referred to as “Project TVADGYCGJR”.
Frostpunk is a great game and among the highlights of 2018. Frostpunk is out now on PC with some huge discounts right now. It’s also out now on PS4 (but not PS Store Asia) and Xbox One, though the Season Pass content, including The Last Autumn, will be arriving at a later date.
