Final Fantasy VII Rebirth On Switch 2 Gets A Physical Release In Southeast Asia

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, part 2 of a trilogy of remakes based on Final Fantasy VII, will be getting a physical release for its Switch 2 version in Southeast Asia. Bandai Namco is the distributor for the game’s physical release in Southeast Asia, like most Square Enix-published titles with physical releases are.

Originally released as a limited-time PS5 exclusive with a PC version now available since, FFVII Rebirth will be releasing on Xbox and Switch 2 this June.

The physical edition, like most Square Enix-published titles on Switch 2, uses a Game Key card.

The first run of the Switch 2 physical versions of FFVII Rebirth will include one Magic: The Gathering — FINAL FANTASY Zack Fair card (the English version). Depending on how you value your Magic: The Gathering cards, this may or may not be a better deal than a full booster pack included in the first runs of Switch 2 physical copies for FFVII Remake Intergrade.

On another note, the Xbox version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so this will include a PC (Microsoft Store) version of the game with cross-progression so you can carry your Cloud’s progression across whichever Xbox platform you play on, even on the… cloud.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox and Switch 2 follows hot on the heels of the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake (Part 1 of the trilogy) earlier this year.

The rapid release of Remake and Rebirth on other platforms is so that fans can catch up and play the upcoming third and final part of this trilogy of Final Fantasy VII remakes, currently in development.

On the topic of catching up, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox and Switch 2 will have the “Streamlined Progression” set of features available. Whether you just want the modern-day equivalent of video game cheats, or just want to blaze through the combat to experience the story, there’s plenty of options to make the experience hassle-free should you choose to.

A demo of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now available on Xbox and Switch 2, which gives access to the first two chapters of the game, including a morsel of the game’s open world.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches on Xbox and Switch 2 on June 3. Check out our review of the game based on the PS5 version here.
