Epic Games Store Now Uses Malaysian Ringgit

Epic Games promised earlier this year that more regional currency support is coming, including a few more currencies in Southeast Asian countries.

Today, Malaysians can now buy games on the Epic Games Store in Malaysian Ringgit instead of US Dollar.

What this means is, you don’t need to go convert the listed price (and add a bit more from what’s suggested by Google’s suggested conversion rates) when you want to buy games anymore. That’s the price you’ll be charged.

The new MYR listing of the Epic Games Store catalog also now shows how much regional pricing is in effect for select games. Hitman 3 is on sale now for the low price of RM78.74. The upcoming medieval heist game Hood: Outlaws & Legends is RM69.

However, not all games have made the transition. Warframe, for example, is still listing its DLC prices in USD.

We haven’t checked whether other SEA countries are also getting their regional currency support today.

More and more PC games platforms and store has added more widespread support for regional currencies, and it’s good trend for players all over the world. EA recently added Ringgit Malaysia to their Origin client.
