Arkane’s latest first-person immersive sim/action shooter Deathloop gets its first game update today.
The update is about 5GB in size for PS5, and 11GB on PC, and fixed some bugs, and added some features for both platforms.
For PS5, you can now calibrate your screen for HDR, as well as some performance improvements when ray tracing is turned on.
On PC, players with Nvidia GPUs can use Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling tech. Previously the game already has AMD’s upscaling tech, AMD FSR, which also works for Nvidia graphics cards.
More importantly, Deathloop will now have an online connection indicator to let you know if the connection’s choppy. There’s a speedometer icon with an exclamation point should there be connection issues.
Also, if you’re playing as Julianna, you won’t be privy to the radio conversations Colt and Julianna have during the start of each level anymore. Some of those can be on the spoiler-y side.
Lastly, enemy AI has been improved in terms of pathing and reactions toward the player. Enemy AI felt a little dumbed down compared to Arkane’s past games, but this update means it’s not really as intentional as we might have thought.
