Dead or alive? Alive, says Koei Tecmo after a long silence as they announce Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round.
This is an updated version of the fighting game Dead Or Alive 6 released back in 2019, now running natively on current-generation consoles. Now with photo mode.
Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round includes 5 Bonus and DLC characters (that includes Tamaki, the character that first debuted in the other very much alive Dead Or Alive game). However, guest characters Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond are not included in Last Round.
There are also five new costumes for popular characters Kasumi, Ayane, Marie Rose, Honoka and Nico.
More DLC characters and costumes to be released post-launch. So not necessarily the definitive edition as there will be more content that you’ll likely need to purchase, but hey, the game’s finally alive again after going dark for so long.
In addition, Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round Core Fighters will also be made available. This is a free-to-play version of the game, with limited access to the 29-character roster (four characters: Kasumi, Marie Rose, Honoka and silat master Nico). This version also has limited access to Story Mode DOA Quest Mode. This is not to be confused with Dead Or Alive 6 Core Fighters, which is basically the same thing but with a different roster and for the previous iteration of the game.
Revealed during the February 2026 State Of Play broadcast, Koei Tecmo also announced that a new Dead Or Alive game is in development. So the fighting game that infamously only known for fan service rather than its genuinely fun take on a 3D fighting game for folks who are tired of only playing Tekken, hasn’t seen its last bout yet.
Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round releases on June 25 for the PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
