This might surprise some folks but Concord, the upcoming multiplayer shooter by developer Firewalk and PlayStation Studios, won’t be free-to-play.
It is, however, not a full-priced game. In the US it’s a $39.99 USD game, which is similar to how fellow PlayStation first-party multiplayer shooter Helldivers 2 is priced at.
In Malaysia, that price is RM169, which again is in parity with Helldivers 2.
The base game will include the following:
- 16 playable Freegunners (characters)
- 12 maps
- 6 different team-based game modes
- free updates post-launch to expand the number of Freegunners, maps and modes
The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at the old-standard full-price price point of RM249, which includes cosmetics and the ability to play early before launch for up to 72 hours.
Pre-ordering the game will give you five codes to access the Beat Early Access weekend in July, so you can rope in four other friends to try this 5v5 shooter which blends hero shooter elements ala Overwatch and… Destiny 2’s Crucible PVP. It’s an FPS that goes into the third-person when dodge-rolling, there’s less than a handful of games that does specifically that.
Concord will have cross-play support across PS5 and PC, as well as launch on both platforms day-and-date. No word on cross-progression, however.
Pre-orders are now live on the PlayStation Store, Steam and Epic Games Store.
Concord will be out on August 23 for the PS5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
