After signing to publish Digital Suns’ upcoming RTS with brick-by-brick castle building Cataclismo, publisher Hooded Horse has now provided more details on what to expect when the game launches later this July.
First off, there’s now a concrete date, July 22. And second, this will be a Steam Early Access launch.
Cataclismo will launch with a tutorial and 11 levels as part of the main campaign mode spread across two biomes.
The game will also launch with a Skirmish mode (featuring two of the currently available biomes) plus an Endless mode (with only one biome, but features procedurally generated maps).
A level editor will also be available, where players can build custom maps based on the two available biomes. The ability to share maps will also be avaialble.
More biomes, features and modes, as well as new content for Endless mode and new levels for the campaign will be added throughout the Early Access phase.
Cataclismo is “pretty much done” according to Digital Sun CEO Javi Giménez. When the game was picked up by the new publisher it was set for a full release in the first place. “We decided we wanted to do a short early access phase to polish the game with the community,” Giménez said.
Hooded Horse has seen successes with its growing selection of strategy, tactical and simulation games entering Early Access and taking its time to develop with the game’s community. This includes last year’s Against The Storm.
Cataclismo releases on July 22 on PC (Steam) as an Early Access title.
