Borderlands Goes High Fantasy With Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Coming In 2022

2K and Gearbox Entertainment is working on another Borderlands game, but in a form you might have not expected. At the Summer Game Fest’s opening broadcast, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was revealed.

Wonderlands will still be like Borderlands as it is a looter-shooter with co-op (up to four players) featuring a story campaign and a repeatable endgame. But now is tinged deep in high fantasy rather than the post-apocalypse.

Remember Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep DLC for Borderlands 2? They went in that direction for this standalone game. Guns and magic are being used together to fight a dragon, as seen in the announcement trailer.

Wonderlands will let players “create and customize their own multiclass heroes.”

The game also features a star-studded cast. Andy Samberg players headstrong captain Valentine, Wanda Sykes as the rule-obsessed robot Frette and Will Arnett as the Dragon Lord. Ashly Bursch returns as Tiny Tina. She isn’t playable (and still a kid in this one) but will serve as your guide through this fantasy, tabletop-inspired world.

Gearbox Entertainment is now part of Embracer Group, but they remain to be in partnership in making Borderlands games with 2K. As we can see with the announcement.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be out on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in early 2022.
