Yooka-Laylee And The Impossible Lair Takes The Throwback 3D Platformer To 2D, Out Now

Yooka-Laylee has a sequel and it’s out now. The original game was born out of Kickstarter to capture the magic of old Rare 3D platformers like Banjo-Kazooie, developed by ex-Rare developers. Now they are going to take the throwback 3D platformer into a throwback 2D platformer.

Yooka-Laylee And The Impossible Lair has side-scrolling 2D levels and play more like Donkey Kong Country than Donkey Kong 64. But it also has a cool top-down overworld filled with puzzles and secrets to discover- not just a hub for levels. Each level also has an alternate variant, which remixes the same level but with different challenges thrown in.

Yooka-Laylee is out now on the PS4 (RM125 on PS Store Asia), PC (RM51 on Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
