What’s New In PS4 System Software Update 5.0?

Sony has revealed the new features that will be introduced in the upcoming software update for the PS4. Codenamed Nobunaga, the 5.00 update adds a little bit of everything, including new system languages.

For Southeast Asian folks, now you can have your PS4 menus in Indonesian, Thai or Vietnamese. It also adds support for Czech, Greek and Hungarian.

Other than that, now you can have multiple adult accounts managing children accounts, with the ability to specifically set age ratings per account rather than per system.

You can now create custom lists for friends and new broadcast features allow PS4 Pro owners to stream at 1080p 60fps on Twitch, spectator comments in VR mode when using PS VR, and the ability to link a community page from your broadcasts.

Messaging gets a few improvements too. Now you can share music from Playstation Music/Spotify to a friend via messaging and the ability to leave multiple groups at once. You can now disable notifications when watching video content and have the notifications hide the online ID of an incoming message.

It’s mostly quality of life updates, and you can check out here for the full change list. The 5.00 update is currently in beta and will roll out to all PS4s soon.
