Indie devs Wolfeye Studios, the team made up of ex-Arkane Studios veterans, and the team behind Weird West, are now working on a new IP.
This is thanks to an investment by venture capital group Galaxy Interactive. Galaxy Interactive has portfolios in various game developers including Build a Rocket Boy, the team working on Everywhere.
As a result, the team is currently hiring, and will be spending the next months prototyping their new IP.
Weird West is an interesting mix of action RPG and the immersive sim design philosophy, where there are various systems interacting in interesting and, some may dare say, weird, ways. The supernatural western game lets you kill everyone, stack barrels to climb through windows, and other shenanigans.
While Arkane has now ventured into not-immersive-sim games (Deathloop is great, but Redfall is what it is), at least the torch of imsims is still being kept alight.
Assuming this next game will still be an immersive sim of sorts, that is.
