Watch Dogs: Legion Online Mode Delayed To 2021 To Fix Save Issues And PC Performance

If you’re planning to get three friends bring all your grandma agents to wreck havoc on near-future dystopian London, shelve that plan until next year. Watch Dogs: Legion’s co-op multiplayer mode that was expected to release this December has been delayed until next year, the developers announced.

For good reason. Ubisoft has outlined that current work is focused on fixing save issues that plagued the game currently.

The switch from Uplay to Ubisoft Connect enabled cross-saves, but the saves itself are disappointingly not saving, or at least not saving consistently. The issue also has extended to Ubisoft’s newer release: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

“Thanks to your detailed reports, and attached save files, what we’ve identified so far is that the issues predominantly affect PC, with a few rare cases on PlayStation 4 and Stadia,” another blog post reads.

Ubisoft are also aware that on PC, the game freezes on the main menu, which also contributes to save issues and are currently working on fixing by the end of the year.

In addition, PC performance is also being worked on as well. The new Title Update 2.00 already has some performance fixes (and a manual save option, thank god), but more work still on improving performance on high-end graphics cards that are not seeing the framerates they should be getting.

Technical issues like this is something we pointed out on our Watch Dogs: Legion review. The game is currently on sale for 25% off, so if you decide to pick it up (messing around as a grandma with hypnotic powers is stupid fun), be aware it’s still not smooth sailing just yet.
