Upcoming PS5 Software Update Improves Sound From DualSense Controller

A new software version for the PS5 is now going into beta testing. Participants of the beta test will be trying new features coming to the console ahead of its full rollout sometime soon, maybe. Features may be changed or even not make it to a full release.

There are three main features that may come to the PS5 in the near future. First is improvements to the sound emitting from the DualSense controller. It should be able to be louder, noise cancellation should be improved producing better mic quality, and you can adjust the volume of the controller sound.

Another new feature is Share Screen interactions. For those that use Share Screen, you can allow other players you share the screen with to have a pointer, ping or draw a line on the screen. This should improve the backseat gaming experience of the viewers. They can also send emoji reactions on the screen. These features can be toggled off by the host should they wish.

And lastly, there is the ability to adjust the brightness of the power indicator, the glowing light the emits when it’s on or in rest mode.

It’s minor adjustments all things considered, but it’s cool nonetheless to see the software of the PS5 console continues to be tinkered and improved.

No word on when or if any of these features will be available to everyone, so stay tuned.
