The Ascent, last year’s twin-stick, top-down shooter with RPG elements by developers Neon Giant, is now available on PlayStation consoles, including Asia.
First released as an Xbox and PC title, The Ascent has you shoot and blast your way in a cyberpunk world. It’s a twin-stick shooter played from the top-down perspective, and includes RPG elements. The game can be played solo or co-op up to four players.
The PS5 version will run at 4K 60fps, and will support haptic feedback and making use of the DualSense controller’s speakers for some audio cues.
The Ascent on PlayStation is up to date with the latest Xbox and PC versions, so features like Photo Mode, New Game+, Transmog and free DLC packs are all included.
There is no cross-play for The Ascent on PlayStation right now, but is in the works. There is cross-buy, however. As in, you’ll own both the PS4 and PS5 versions with one purchase. Sort of a free next-gen upgrade, if you will.
The Ascent is available now on PS4 and PS5 (including on PS Store Asia for RM125). The game is also available on PC (Steam), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
