Deflect Boy Is A Top-Down Shooter But You Have No Gun, Out Now

Here’s a simple pitch of a game. A top-down bullet hell shooter, but you don’t have a gun. Instead, you have a shield that can deflect bullets.

That’s the core premise of Deflect Boy, a newly-released indie game by Indonesia-based Reima Project.

Its artstyle may be simple, but this is essentially a bullet heaven (reverse bullet hell) game with extra steps. As you continue to survive, you’ll get to pick one of three upgrades to improve your damage dealing capabilities, which includes making a deflected bullet to unleash bolts a chain of screen-filling lighting strikes.

Deflect Boy is designed for bite-sized play sessions, under 15 minutes. And it’s a cheap game as well, it’s only RM5.69 in Malaysia on Steam.

Deflect Boy is out now on PC (Steam).
