Transmog And Cross-Play Are Coming To Destiny 2 Next Year

Bungie has teased that new big features are currently in the works for Destiny 2, and will be coming next year.

First is transmog – short for transmogrification. This lets you keep whatever stat of your armour, but change it to an appearance of another. This is great for players that want to fashion but not penalised for equipping weaker armour parts.

This is expected to drop in Season 14. Currently, Destiny 2 is at Season 12. So expect to see this feature coming in 2021. The screenshot (featured above) is based on an early work, so it may change when it’s finally released.

The other feature is cross-play. Destiny already has cross-progression where you can carry over your account’s progression across all platforms. But cross-play will allow everyone to be able to play together regardless of platform. That will arrive firmly in 2021.

Two strikes (Fallen S.A.B.E.R. and Devil’s Lair) will arrive in Season 13, and Vault Of Glass, the first raid from the original Destiny, is still set to arrive soon, as part of Year 4, marked by the release of the Beyond Light expansion.
