In the mood for a blend of genre-mixing games? Indie devs Diet Zribi announced that their latest game Toodee And Topdee is out now on PC via Steam.
As the titular duo, you will be navigating levels that require both the side-scrolling and top-down plane of existence to work together. Toodee navigates the world as a 2D platformer, requiring precise platforming to reach ledges and avoid spikes of death. Topdee meanwhile operates on the top-down plane, being able to carry boxes and solve puzzles.
The screen tilts slightly downward each time the perspective shifts, freezing the other character, but not the other level elements like enemies.
Toodee And Topdee promises tricky puzzles to solve and the most accurate of platforming, though there is a difficulty option to toggle some rules off, so anyone can play.
There’s also local co-op mode too, so each player can take control of Toodee and Topdee.
The game started out life as a game jam prototype with the theme of “combine two incompatible genres”. Platformers and puzzlers may seem at odds, but we let you decide if it’s anything like the combination of banana and pesto.
Toodee and Topdee is out now on Steam for RM39.
