Activision has prepared an acid drop worth of new information for the upcoming remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will feature at least two more original levels, joining the previously revealed Waterpark. These are new additions on top of all the levels from the two games.
Pinball is a level set within a pinball table called Skate Of The Living Dead. It’s a spooky level and you’re also the size of a pinball. And someone is playing said pinball table, Tony Hawk himself, and you have to content to avoiding a moving hazard while you combo the whole park with gnarly airs and long grinds.
The other new level is Movie Studio. Set in and around Stage 34 (heh), this is a competition level, so in Career Tour mode you’re expected to do one-minute runs with the only objective is to score big. Expect to find sci-fi props (including a spaceship and tentacles) as well as a green screen as you do your three runs for a medal finish.
In addition, the blog post also revealed one other guest character: Michelangelo of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame. Unlike Doom Slayer, Mikey here didn’t appear in the original two games, so this is an interesting new addition.
But the other new addition should’ve been confirmed back at launch. Bam Margera, one of the OG skateboarders featured in the original THPS3 and THPS4, and was conspicuously missing, is now in the roster. So all the OG skateboarders Tony Hawk picked to feature in the original games are back alongside the current stars of skateboarding and a few guest characters.
The blog post also confirmed the following features included in THPS3+4:
- Multiplayer
- Cross-play multiplayer lobbies (public, local, split-screen)
- HAWK Mode in multiplayer: a variation of hide-and-seek and HORSE using the SKATE mechanic: Players take turns to hide four letters (H, A, W, K) and find the four letters
- Free Skate, Horse, Tag, Trick Attack, Score Challenge, Combo Mambo, Combo Challenge and Graffitti modes are available
- Voice chat available, with push-to-talk option
- Streamer Mode: Original music replaces songs “not suitable for content creation.” Original music can be added in playlist even after leaving Streamer Mode
- More gameplay objects available to plop in Create-A-Park mode
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will be out on July 11 on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Battle.net), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The game will launch day-one on Game Pass. A demo is available now, but only for those that pre-order the game.
