Gearbox and 2K’s upcoming looter-shooter Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be offering something that the main Borderlands series has never offered before and often requested: a full-on character creator.
In the Borderlands games, your class is tied to a specific character which is nice to see them return in future games as NPCs but it means you are stuck with having to like at least one of the cast. With Wonderlands, your Fatemaker is entirely yours, which you can customise the way you want them to look.
The character creator lets you pick a body type, pronoun, and offers customisable height (nice), facial features, hairstyles, makeup, attire and personality. There are pre-sets for those that want to keep the creation quick.
And for the folks who want to make absolute horrors, you are allowed as well. The customisation sliders can be kicked into overdrive, going beyond the borders where lips and nose can clip together. No mods necessary.
Your Fatemaker can be assigned to four different personalities: Gallant, Clever, Gruff or Strange. This determines how your character reacts to the world. For each personality, there are two voice options, with an ability to alter their pitch to make them just right for you.
You will find more customisation options throughout playing Wonderlands, and you can further change your look at any Quick Change kiosks. No more just swapping heads and colour palates, you get a full character editor.
Other customisation times include emotes and banners (visible on the overworld map when you clear a location and when doing emotes). Your created character will also be immortalised in statues found in Brighthoof, reflecting your beautiful/horrible creation.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be out on March 25 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
