Take Control Of Animals And Objects In Tropical Open-World Adventure Game Tchia, Coming To PS4, PS5, PC Next Year

The PlayStation Showcase 2021 may have been filled with big blockbuster announcements, but it did have room to showcase an indie game or two.

One of them being the tropical open-world adventure game Tchia. Made by developers Awaceb, the game is inspired by the homeland of the devs’ co-founders of New Caledonia.

Tchia will have you jumping, climbing, gliding, boat sailing around the island. And you can also take control of animals. Be a bird, a dog, a crab and have fun with the sandbox.

Essentially, think the fun bits of The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild’s traversal, and the possession mechanic from Super Mario Odyssey but with a bit of New Caledonian charm that we don’t see often in video games and you’ll get Tchia. At least the version they’re showcasing in this trailer.

Expect the story to be inspired heavily by New Caledonian culture with characters all fully voiced by local talent.

Also, you can pet a crab, and play the ukulele. Fun!

Tchia will be out in 2022 for the PS4, PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store.
