Star Citizen Alpha 3.9 Update Lets You Go To Jail, Adds New Missions, New Ship And More

Ambitious space sim Star Citizen has recieved a new update. Alpha 3.9, titled Locked Up & Loaded, adds some new features to the still-in-development game.

The biggest addition is the Kleshcer Automated Prison. Should a player gets caught by security forces of bounty hunters for doing crimes, you will be serving it in the prison. And it’s not just a loading screen and then you’re scot free. You will be stuck in said prison, having to do manual labour and serve your time. You can also find a way to bust out of jail if you’re having none of that.

The Locked Up & Loaded update also adds a new mission, The Price Of Freedom, which involves busting some outlaws out of a prison transport.

Besides that, a new Babbage Landing zone is added. This is a new location you can land a do trade, featuring an extensive transit system, the microTech company’s flagship store and open spaces enclosed in domes.

Also, Star Citizen gets a new ship. The Esperia Prowler. Take a look at the ship in this trailer dedicated to it here:

Alongside the new content are numerous other system additions. Your friends list in-game and on the Star Citizen Spectrum (CIG’s proprietary out-of-game communications platform) are now unified. There are new UI changes for equipping weapon attachments on the fly.

There is also a new player status system that governs hunger, and thirst. Also, blizzards and snowstorms will affect the speed of players and their ships move around.

Star Citizen’s Alpha 3.9 is now live. You can check out the full patch notes here.
