Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered Is Coming To PC, Consoles Soon

The remaster of Shadows Of The Damned is getting more real by the day. And for those that attended PAX East last weekend (March 21-24), it is.

Developers Grasshopper Manufacture (now under the NetEase umbrella) has brought a playable demo of the upcoming remaster of Shadows Of The Damned, now called Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered.

Originally released in 2011, Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered stars Garcia Hotspur and the talking skull/weapon Johnson who’s out to “kick demon ass and makes his way through the darkest depths of Hell, lighting up the darkness with his burning passion on a mission to rescue his true love from an insidious demon king”.

Shadows Of The Damned plays more like a cover shooter, in vogue back in the year of release during the heydays of Gears Of War and Mass Effect. But it’s that Goichi “Suda51” Suda and Shinji Mikami touch that really sets the game apart. It’s eccentric take of Hell with a tinge of Rock n’ Roll as envisioned by a team-up of two illustrious game designers that made their name from past titles like No More Heroes, Killer7, Resident Evil, and even God Hand is just something else.

There’s no release date yet for Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered, but it’s coming to PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
