Two months after its release, racing game Screamer (2026) now has a demo, Milestone announced. The demo, available on PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S gives players a sampler of the racing game’s story mode and access to a few tracks and racers so they can wrap around the game’s unique gameplay mechanics.
The demo for Screamer includes the following content:
- The first six chapters of the story mode, The Tournament
- Three tracks
- Downtown Run
- Unlock through story mode progression
- The Port
- Stadium Olympus
- Four drivers/cars
- All three characters from the Green Reapers: Hiroshi, Róisín and Frederic
- Lavinia (Jupiter Stormers) unlocked through story mode progression
- Two of six Arcade Mode game modes (Race, Team Race)
- Split-screen multiplayer (up to four players)
Screamer shares the same name as Milestone’s first ever racing game, the 1995 MS-DOS racer. However, unlike another game that shares a name from a 90s video game, the similarities end there. Screamer (2026) has anime characters each speaking in their mother tongue and understand each other perfectly, crazy non-licensed cyberpunkish cars, and gameplay mechanics that will require some practice. Screamer has twin-stick driving where the right stick is used for drifting, a dual-meter system where you build boost for speed and boost to take out other races, and even semi-automatic transmission as a game mechanic where perfect shifting is presented as an active reload system.
Screamer will be adding Ranked Team Races, a new competitive online mode, later on June 18.
Screamer is out now on PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
